Tata Motors Unveils Avinya Luxury EV Lineup: Sportback to Lead, SUV to Follow

Tata Motors Introduced All New Luxury EV Brand Avinya At The Bharat Mobility Expo 2025

Tata Motors is set to redefine its approach to luxury electric vehicles with the launch of its Avinya brand, starting with a Sportback instead of an SUV. At Auto Expo 2025, Martin Uhlarik, Tata’s Global Design head, confirmed that the Avinya concept, first revealed two years ago, will materialize as the brand’s debut model.

He described the upcoming vehicle as a five-door, low-slung, and highly dynamic Sportback. With its design phase now complete, the model is expected to hit the market next year. Uhlarik also emphasized that this vehicle is intended to establish Avinya’s identity, making a strong first impression in the premium EV segment.

Despite the unconventional body style, Tata Motors has ambitious plans for the Sportback, targeting an annual production of 24,000 units plus. Following this launch, the brand will shift focus to an SUV based on the Avinya X concept, which was showcased at Auto Expo 2025. Described by Uhlarik as a “brand pillar,” the SUV is expected to have broader market appeal due to its traditional design. Sources indicate that it will be among the higher-end models in Avinya’s planned lineup, with a three-row version positioned at the top.

Built on Jaguar Land Rover’s EMA platform, all Avinya models including the Sportback and SUVs will share a common foundation. Beyond these two, Tata Motors is also developing a compact 4.4-meter SUV and a larger 4.9-meter luxury Utility Vehicle, similar in size to the Volvo EM90 MPV. With this diverse product roadmap, Tata Motors aims to position new Avinya as a leading name in the luxury electric vehicle space, combining innovative design with advanced electric mobility.
