Hyundai Creta Flex Fuel 1.0 will launch in India very soon; will share engine with Venue and i20 later
Hidden in a quiet corner of Hyundai’s Auto Expo 2025 display is a special version of the Creta, a 1.0-litre turbo petrol model capable of running entirely on E100 ethanol. This particular Hyundai Creta variant is more commonly seen in South American markets, where ethanol-powered vehicles are in greater demand. This is one of the most affordable Creta ever made with no compromise with performance.
At first glance, there are no significant design or feature changes in this version of the Creta, apart from its smaller 1.0-litre turbocharged engine. The powertrain is the familiar 1.0-litre GDI turbo petrol unit that delivers 120hp and 172Nm of torque, the same as what powers the Hyundai Venue 1.0 and i20. However, this engine has been specially modified to operate on pure ethanol (E100), which contains no petrol blend. The SUV comes equipped with a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Although Hyundai has not confirmed any plans to introduce the 1.0 turbo variant of the Creta in India, the vehicle was showcased at the Auto Expo as a demonstration of the company’s progress in flex-fuel technology. Currently, the Creta is available in the Indian market with multiple powertrain choices, including two petrol options, a diesel engine, and the newly introduced Creta Electric.

The all new Creta electric is catching huge attention because of its insane performance, long range and ultimate design. The all new Creta electric is powered by a 51.4kW and 42kWh battery pack delivering 473 kilometer and 390 kilometers of drive range on a single charge. If you talk about the performance the new Creta electric is capable to reach steady to 100km/h in just 7.9 seconds which is pretty insane. The starting price tag on electric Creta is ₹17.99 lakh ex-showroom, making it a affordable premium electric vehicle in the country.
