Vayve Eva is the first ever solar powered electric car introduced in the country
Pune-based Vayve Mobility has officially introduced its latest innovation, the Eva, a compact electric vehicle designed for urban commuting. With prices starting at ₹3.25 lakh, the Eva is available in three battery configurations: 9kWh, 12.6kWh, and 18kWh. Bookings are now open for ₹5,000, and while the car is still under development, deliveries are set to begin in the second half of 2026. Currently on display at Auto Expo 2025, the Eva is being positioned as an efficient, eco-friendly alternative for city dwellers. To incentivize early buyers, Vayve is offering exclusive perks to the first 25,000 customers, including an extended battery warranty and three years of free vehicle connectivity.
For added convenience, buyers can opt for an optional solar roof, priced at ₹20,000 for the Nova and Stella variants and ₹25,000 for the top-tier Vega variant. Vayve also offers a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, charging ₹2 per kilometer, with minimum monthly usage requirements of 600km, 800km, and 1,200km for the Nova, Stella, and Vega trims, respectively.
The Eva is built for the urban environment, featuring a 2,200mm wheelbase and measuring 3,060mm in length, 1,150mm in width, and 1,590mm in height, making it slightly larger than the MG Comet. With its two-door, quadricycle-style design, it’s crafted to maneuver easily through congested city streets while rolling on 12-inch wheels. The cabin layout accommodates three passengers, with a centrally positioned driver’s seat at the front and a bench seat for two passengers in the rear.

Inside, the Eva boasts a dual-screen dashboard that integrates a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. It comes equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ensuring seamless smartphone integration.
Additional high-end features include a six-way adjustable driver’s seat for personalized comfort, climate control for a pleasant driving experience, a reverse parking camera for effortless maneuvering, hill-hold assist to prevent rollbacks on inclines, vehicle diagnostics to monitor performance and maintenance, and over-the-air (OTA) updates for software enhancements. For exterior customization, the Eva is available in six vibrant colors: Moonstone White, Light Platinum, Rose Coral, Sky Blue, Champagne Gold, and Cherry Red.
Powered by a 40Nm rear-wheel-drive motor, the Eva accelerates from 0-40 km/h in just five seconds and achieves a top speed of 70 km/h. The IP67-rated battery pack, strategically positioned under the floor, ensures waterproof durability. In terms of range, the 18kWh battery offers a maximum driving distance of 250km, while the 9kWh and 12.6kWh packs deliver 125km and 175km, respectively.
The optional solar roof can add up to 10km of additional range per day, and Vayve estimates that users could drive up to 3,000km per year using solar energy alone. More impressively, the Eva’s operating cost is just ₹0.5 per kilometer, making it ten times more economical than a conventional petrol hatchback.
The Eva is designed for fast and convenient charging. Using a DC fast charger, the battery can be replenished from 10% to 70% in just 15 minutes. For home charging, a standard 15A household socket requires up to five hours for a full charge.
With its compact dimensions, tech-forward cabin, sustainable powertrain, and incredibly low running costs, the Vayve Eva is poised to transform urban mobility in India, offering a futuristic and practical solution for city commuters.
